The two objects of planning are phases and milestones. They are presented here in the form of a gantt chart.

Phases can be used to divide a project into several parts with start and end dates, project properties and measures (resources, budget, risk).

Tasks and exchanges can be linked to phases or milestones: this is a dependency.

A phase can be the mother of another phase, which is therefore a subphase.

Milestones are used to setdeadline dates for the project, and to indicate the project's level of progress.

Here is an example of a project schedule gantt chart

💡 Drag & Drop: click and hold on the phase project, one of the phases or one of the milestones, and reposition schedule elements as required: before or after an object, parent/child of another schedule object...

💡 A cockpit schedule is available in the project header (if set via the view Project header). This cockpit is based on milestones only, not phases. If a green square is displayed: milestones are not late. If a tick appears, then all milestones are complete.

Non-exhaustive list of error/information messages

Button name	Description
Fold	Allows you to fold a level: fold the milestones of a subphase so that they no longer appear on the screen, fold sub-phases, fold phases, and so on. When folding is no longer possible, only the project remains displayed.
Unfold	Unfold a level: Unfold the milestones of a subphase so that they appear on the screen again, unfold sub-phases, unfold phases, etc. When it is no longer possible to unfold, all schedule objects are displayed on screen.
Increase shrinkage WBS	This button is used to shift a schedule object, making it a child of a previous schedule object. Rights required : Modification of schedule object dates
Reduce shrinkage WBS	This button is used to shift a schedule object so that it is no longer a child of a previous schedule object. Rights required : Modification of schedule object dates
Duplicate selected items	This button is used to copy selected schedule objects (including child objects). Rights required : Modification of schedule object dates
Delete selected items	This button is used to delete selected objects from the schedule. Rights required : Modification of schedule object dates
Display of gantt chart	Allows you to display the Gantt in simple or complete form: - Simple display: label, estimated start and end dates, status of phases/milestones - Full display: manager phase /milestone, type, dates synchronized with schedule objects, and attachments
Undo last Gantt updates	Cancels the last modification made to the project schedule Rights required : Modification of schedule object dates
Redo	Redo the last cancelled modification made to the project schedule Rights required : Modification of schedule object dates
critical path	This critical path will indicate the phases/milestones that jeopardize the project completion date: they will be circled in red. If the project is postponed accordingly, these elements will no longer be highlighted.
Activate automatic scheduling	When a schedule object has been shifted, this button shows the adjustment of the dependent phases/milestones. If automatic scheduling is activated on a project by a user, if the user disconnects or makes changes to the project, automatic scheduling will still be activated when the user returns. Conversely, if it is not activated for a user on a project, it will not be activated until the button is clicked. Rights required : Use the scheduling automatic
drift between target and estimated	This button displays the initially planned schedule objects in gray (target) and the estimated schedule objects in color (updated since the target schedule was planned).
Show schedule target	This button switches the display from the estimated schedule to the target schedule.
Legend	The legend displays the colors according to theattribute (color) selected. For example, if the selected colors correspond to the status of the objects in the schedule, the legend will show : Getting started, In progress, Completed... Phases in progress will therefore appear in yellow, but this may change if the schedule no longer shows the status but the type of phase. List attributes with the `Quick search criteria` checkboxes appear in the schedule display options
Colors	Allows you to define the colors of planning objects according to attribute : type, health, status...
Scale to project dates	Clicking on this button adjusts the schedule elements on the screen according to the dates. All elements appear without having to navigate from one end of the screen to the other. gantt chart
Zoom in	This button enlarges the display of planning objects
Zoom out	This button gives you an overview of view planning objects, as they will be displayed in a smaller format.
Full screen	Displays the schedule in full screen mode (always in a browser tab)
Exit full screen mode	Displays the schedule normally in, rather than full-screen. 🚩 This button appears when full screen has already been activated 🚩 This button appears at contextual menu on theme Planning
Save the schedule estimated as target	This button is used to save as targets all the dates of schedule objects considered as estimated. Rights required : Modifying a schedule object Save the schedule estimated as target 🚩 This button appears at contextual menu on theme Planning
Correct schedule dates	This button updates the schedule with the correct dates: the dates of the project or schedule objects may have been modified via other screens. If phases have children/parents, it may be useful to synchronize the dates. This button therefore takes the earliest start date and the most recent end date of the child phases. Shifting the schedule	This button is used to shift schedule items (estimated or target): simply select a date from the calendar. Rights required : Modifying a schedule object 🚩 This button appears at contextual menu on theme Planning

Modify density	Choice between `Normal` and `High`. With high density, more planning lines will appear in the list (without changing page). Lines will be thinner than with normal density. 🚩 This button appears at contextual menu on theme Planning
Export to Excel	This button is used to export the gantt chart project as an .xlsx file. The on-screen display of the schedule will be identical to that in the downloaded file. Example: `EXPORT-DATE.xlsx` 🚩 This button appears at contextual menu on theme Planning
Export in CSV format	This button exports the gantt chart project as a .csv file. The on-screen display of the schedule will be identical to that in the downloaded file. Example: `EXPORT-DATE.csv` 🚩 This button appears at contextual menu on theme Planning

Edit	This button allows you to modify a phase or modify a milestone Rights required : Modifying a schedule object 🚩 This button appears on contextual menu of a phase or a milestone
Insert	🚩 This button appears on contextual menu of a phase or a milestone This button is used to insert new elements to a phase or a milestone. It is possible to add a milestone, a phase, a typical schedule from a template project. Milestones and phases can be added with or without templates. Phase milestone By inserting it in a phase or in a milestone, the estimated end date will be the same as that of the phase or of the milestone parent(s). 🚩 The date may be red: it will not be possible to save without changing the end date estimated. If certain dates are grayed out, then a calendar has been defined on template of milestone, restricting the possible dates to selection. Add	This button is used to add tasks and exchanges to phase or milestone. It is possible to insert one of the task or one of the exchangeor to insert a task or a exchange without any template It is also possible to add an attachment to the phase/to the milestone selected. Visit	This button is used to view tasks or exchanges linked to the selected phase or milestone . The user is redirected to the task list. Tasks filtered by phase or milestone , or the exchange list Exchanges of the project, filtered on the phase or milestone in question. Rights required : View and modify your tasks (sender, assigned, participant) or View all project tasks or Consult a exchange 🚩 This button appears on contextual menu of a phase or a milestone
summary sheet document	This button is used to launch a summary sheet document for phase or milestone. The list of summary sheet phase / milestone (document) is displayed Rights required : Viewing views in platform administration 🚩 This button appears on contextual menu of a phase or a milestone

Duplicate	This button duplicates a schedule object (phase or milestone) and uses the same information. Rights required : Creating a schedule object 🚩 This button appears on contextual menu of a phase or a milestone
Delete	Use this button to delete a specific phase or milestone . Rights required : Deleting an object from the schedule 🚩 This button appears on contextual menu of a phase or a milestone
Quick editing	By hovering over an object in the schedule, you can modify its fields directly. Rights required : Modification of schedule object dates or Modifying a schedule object
Dates entered manually	If this padlock is displayed, then the parent/daughter phases do not have their dates linked.
Dates synchronized with children's dates	If this padlock is displayed, then the start and end dates of the phases are linked: parent/daughter phases. When the parent phase changes from a meta-status (e.g. "in progress") to a meta-status "completed", then a pop-up is displayed, and the daughter phases of this phase can also change to the completed meta-status by clicking on OK. If you click on Cancel, only the parent phase goes to meta-status "completed". If the parent phase switches back to status "in progress", the daughter phases retain their status "completed" status.

This Planning screen can be filtered using several criteria:

Click on Save to apply the filter and Close to return to the list.

Creating and modifying a phase

A phase can be added using a template Phaseor without template.

The phase is created and added to the schedule after clicking on the Add. The fields to be filled in are available when you edit phase;

Insert contents of template	It is possible to insert the contents of a template from the list of Phase Fields can be modified, for example by adding or deleting planning attributes.
Add to your calendar	This button is used to download a file `.ics` and open it via your mailbox or calendar. The information included is : - Wording from phase - Wording project - Type of the phase - date of Start estimated of the phase - date of End estimated from phase - URL link to the phase
See the history	This button allows you to viewhistory phase modifications: date, user, action, object, property, value. Actions are sorted from most recent to oldest.
Delete	To delete the phase Right required: Deleting an object from the schedule or Removing your objects from the schedule
Add a dependency	This button is found in theDependencies tab: it lets you add an element that will be dependent on the phase / the milestone
Modifying a dependency	This button is found in theDependencies tab: it is used to modify an element that will be dependent on the phase / the milestone
Remove a dependency	This button is found in theDependencies tab: it can be used to delete an element that will be dependent on the phase / the milestone

General tab

Field	Functional information
Wording	This is the wording of the phase
Code	This is the phase
Phase relative	Another phase or the project can be defined as the parent of the selected phase .
Type	This field is used to define the type of phase
manager	A user can be defined as manager . phase
Status	status of phase can be modified here
Start estimated	This is the estimated start date of phase . Estimated duration of the phase is automatically calculated using this date.
End estimated	This is the estimated end date of phase . Estimated duration of the phase is automatically calculated using this date.
Estimated duration	The estimated duration of the phase is calculated automatically based on the date of Start estimated and the date of End estimated
Start target	This is the target start date of phase : the desired start date of phase . Duration target of the phase is automatically calculated using this date.
End target	This is the target end date of phase : the desired end date of phase . Duration target of the phase is automatically calculated using this date.
Duration target	The estimated duration of the phase is calculated automatically based on the date of Start target and the date of End target

Dependencies tab

💡For example, a milestone is placed as the predecessor of the selected phase , with an End-Start dependency type and a delay of 1: the phase will start 1 day after the end of the milestone.

Predecessor	This is the milestone or phase that will be considered to be before the modified phase .
Type	There are four types of dependencies to choose from: - `Late-early` B does not start until A has finished - `Early-Early` B starts only when A has started - `End-End` B cannot be completed until A has been completed - `Start-End` B can only be completed once A has begun
Delay	This is a numeric field. It is the time (days) between the predecessor and the modified phase .

Creating and modifying a milestone

A milestone can be added using a template milestoneor without template.

The milestone is created and added to the schedule after clicking on the button. Add. The fields to be filled in are available when you modify the milestone
