It is possible to transfer load from one resource to another, for example from a generic "project manager" resource to a named resource, from a project or the capacity plan .
The load can be present in one or more phases of one or more projects. It is possible to transfer the load from one resource to several resources.
Via a project
- Access a project.
- Go to screenÂ
schedule le remaining work or
Summary.
- Choose a resource that has
remaining work
on the project or on a phase. - Click on the
contextual menu of this resource, then on Reassign remaining work.
- Select one or more resources from the list. Only resources with availability are displayed here.
- Click on
Register.
Reset remaining work global
. The remaining work of the resource will then drop to 0.Via the capacity plan
- Click on the main > menuÂ
Resource management >Â
Capacity Plan.
- Modify capacity plan display criteria (resources, projects, period, assignments with or without remaining work and completed).
- Click on View.
- Unfold resources, projects and phases as required.
- Click on the contextual menu of a resource or phase.
- Click on Reassign remaining work.
- Select one or more resources from the list. Only resources with availability are displayed here.

Load transfer: explanatory table
Here's how the transfer is operated according to the different representations:
progressive scheduling
Resource A (source) | Resource Btarget) | Resource B after transfer |
remaining work global | Identical transfer
remaining work global | remaining work global | Sum of remaining work resource A and B |
remaining work global | completed or remaining work detailed manual | Allocation to other days |
remaining work detailed manual | Identical transfer
remaining work detailed manual | remaining work detailed manual | Sum of remaining work manual resource A and B |
remaining work detailed manual | smooth detailed remaining work | Manual detailed remaining work replaces smoothed detailed remaining work work |
remaining work detailed manual | completed | You can't have both remaining work and completed work on the same day,
so everything is transferred to detailed smooth remaining work |
manual scheduling
Resource A (source) | Resource Btarget) | Resource B after transfer |
remaining work global | remaining work global
remaining work global | remaining work global | Sum of remaining work resource A and B |
remaining work detailed remaining work | remaining work detailed remaining work
remaining work detailed remaining work | remaining work detailed remaining work | Sum of detailed remaining work |
remaining work detailed remaining work | completed | No detailed remaining work on days with completed |
If you reallocate global or automatically smoothed remaining work work :
- then it is added to the global or smoothed remaining work already present
- days containing completed or manually-detailed remaining work are not affected, but are distributed over the other days.
If I already have completed and/or manual values on all days, then an error message appears:
The transfer of remaining work is impossible, because resource "x" is not available: this resource already has manual completed or remaining work for the selected period .
If you reassign detailed remaining work manually :
- then it is added to the remaining work manual already present
- it replaces the smoothed detailed remaining work
- days containing completed work cannot contain remaining work, which is distributed to the other days. Manual remaining work can then be transformed into smoothed remaining work .
Example:
I have 10 days of global remaining work on a resource, including :
- 2 days manually seized in January
- 1 day manually entered in February
- the remainder is smoothed over the other months
- 1 day manually entered in January
- 0.5 days manually entered in February
- the remainder smoothed over the other months.
I transfer the load to 2 other resources. Each will then have :
