1. Hiérarchies
structure
Hierarchies
Enables rights management and localization/partitioning of access to certain objects. This is known as a structure link.
It is possible to associate a structure with a user group to restrict rights. By default, an object has unrestricted access, but if it is attached to a user group, only users belonging to this group can use the object.
Example: the geography structure contains continents on level 1, countries on level 2 and cities on level 3.
structure | LEVEL 1 | LEVEL 2 | LEVEL 3 |
Geography | Continent | Country | City |
Europe | France | Paris | |
Nantes | |||
Italy | Rome | ||
Milan | |||
Asia | Japan | Tokyo | |
India | New Delhi | ||

Accepted file format :
- .csv
- .xls
- .xlsx
New in v7.8: Level codes shared across hierarchies
Hierarchies in Project Monitor can be created:
- directement dans l'application par saisie dans les champs. La saisie se fait soit en mode rapide avec uniquement la saisie du nom soit en mode avancé avec la possibilité de saisir des informations complémentaires. Ce mode de création inclut des fonctions de « cliquer glisser » pour modifier le rattachement d'une valeur.
- à l'aide du mécanisme d'import de fichier.
Création d'une hiérarchie par fichier
- Click on
Main menu >
Administration, Data administration >
Imports>Attributes, risks and hierarchies.
- Level labels, codes and descriptions
- Labels, codes and descriptions of level values
- Creation in
Project Monitor structure and properties
- Creation in
Project Monitor levels and their properties
- Export structure in Excel® format
- Complete the resulting file with the desired level values
- Import modified file
- If necessary, update level value details (code, logo, description)
File rules and formalism
- Data must appear on the first tab
- The second line defines level labels, codes and descriptions.
- No blank lines.
Limitations
If the list of levels does not match the content of the structure : error message
The uniqueness of the structure value 's code structure value within the same structure) is the starting point:
- Reading an existing code from the structure modify it if the file contains a different label or description,
- Reading a non-existent code: creating a new structure value.
Example:
- Reading B9: code known → structure will be modified to this structure value or lower.
- Compare fields and modify if delta
- Read E9: code known → structure will be modified to this structure value or lower.
- Reading K9: new code → this structure value will be added structure
Via cURL command
Step 1: Retrieve the token
curl -X GET -H X-PM-LOGIN // User login // H X-PM-PASSWORD:admin "admin
-H X-PM-PASSWORD:admin "http://localhost:8888/MonitorMakerWeb/api/auth/jwt/token" // server address //Étape 2 : Lancer l'import de hiérarchies
curl POST X-PM-LOGIN: // User's login ///
-H Authorization: // Authorization token //
-H Accept:application/json
-F attachment=@D:/projectmonitor/temp/Hierarchies.xls // Path of file to be imported //
"http://localhost:8888/MonitorMakerWeb/api/import/IMPORT_HIERARCHIE" // Address of hierarchy import WebService //All levels described in the file are imported, even if they have no associated structure value .
If the level already exists (search by code), then the rest of the information in the file is ignored (no label update).
Blocking errors :
- incorrect header format
- non-existent structure
- incorrect level line
Non-blocking error :
- error on a structure value description line (the entire line is not imported)
2. Risques
Accepted file format :
- .csv
- .xls
- .xlsx
The imported file contains at least the 6 columns detailed in the table.
Click on Main menu >
Administration, Data administration >
Imports > Attributes, risks and hierarchies.
This import also works for indicators: the expected format is identical.
Column | Code parameter | parameter label | Long parameter label | Description parameter | Code Type | Code category | Hiérarchie\* | Niveau\* | Valeur de niveau\* |
Description | parameter code to create | parameter label to be created | Long parameter label | Description of the parameter | Code d'identification du genre | Code d'identification de la catégorie | structure link structure code | structure link level code structure link | structure value code structure link structure value structure link |
Mandatory | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | ❌ No | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | ✅ Oui si colonne Hiérarchie ajoutée | ✅ Oui si colonne Hiérarchie ajoutée |
3. Utilisateurs
The Import Users screen allows you to create multiple users at once and edit existing users using a CSV file.
Rights required : Create users in platform administration
New in v7.8: Screen Redesign
- Import performance has been improved, allowing you to import your user batches more quickly.
- The password prompt during account creation is removed: users set their password the first time they log in.
1. Download the template
- Do not change the column names in the template. The headers contain a technical identifier in square brackets (example:
Login*_[1135343]). Project monitor uses this identifier Project monitor link each column to the correct attribute. If you remove or modify it, the import will fail. - The order of the columns must be strictly followed.
- The file must be in the following format CSV, separator semicolon (
;), encoding UTF-8.
Before importing, download the CSV template to ensure you have the correct file structure.
- Click on
Administration > Data administration >
Imports>Users.
- Click on Download model
- Open the file in your spreadsheet program or a text editor.
The template file is downloaded to your computer in CSV format.
First-time login and password setup
When a user is created (either via import or individually), a random password is automatically generated. Neither the administrator nor the user receives it.
Depending on your platform's login method, the user's first login works as follows:
- SSO Login: The user logs in directly through your organization's SSO system, without having to enter a password.
- Logging in with a username and password: The user clicks "Forgot Password " on the login screen. The user then receives an email allowing them to reset their password themselves, in accordance with the platform's rules.
Template Contents
The template contains 13 columns. The columns marked with an asterisk (*) are required, the others are optional.
Column | Login | First name | Name | Description | Function | Mail | Company | Standard telephone | Office phone | Cell phone | Opening Date | Closing date | managed resource |
Description | User's unique login ID. | User's first name. | Username. | User-provided description. | Job title or position title. | The user's email address. Used for notifications and to send the initial access link. | structure link Engineering Company. | Main phone number. | Office phone number. | Cell phone number. | The date on or after which the user can log in. Must be in the DD/MM/YYYY format. | The date after which the user can no longer log in. Must be in the DD/MM/YYYY format. | managed resource login for the managed resource , if applicable. Please fill in TRUE or TRUE To enable resource creation; leave blank otherwise. |
Mandatory | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | ❌ No | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No |
2. Import the template
Once the file is complete, import it to create the users.
- Click on
Administration > Data administration >
Imports>Users.
- Click in the drop-off area or drag and drop your file
.csv. - Click on Import.
The selected file is displayed in the box.
The import is starting. Once it is complete, a message will appear.
For each valid line, a user is created on the platform.
You can find him in the list of users (Administration > User settings >
User management > Users).
Importing the same file twice no longer deletes users as of version 7.8.
4. Attributs
Principle
Accepted file format :
- .xls
- Click on
Main menu >
Administration, Data administration >
Imports>Attributes, risks and hierarchies.
- Click on the Add a file or drag & drop the file to load the file containing the attributes to be imported,
- Click on the Import pour démarrer l'import.
