There are two ways of scheduling resources: progressive scheduling and manual scheduling .
Progressive scheduling makes it easy to parameter workloads as the project progresses, thanks to automatic smoothing of the remaining workload.
Manual scheduling allows you to keep control of the data entry process by only scheduling the remaining work manually.
Progressive or manual scheduling can be activated or deactivated in the settings for a particular project, or via the project list (mass update) if several projects are involved.

How does manual scheduling work?

This leaves 20 days left to schedule , which have been divided up: 5 in October, 5 in November, 2 in December and 5 in January. This leaves 3 days left on the schedule.
The remaining work to schedule can be negative if more remaining work has been manually planned than the overall remaining work initially planned.
If I enter a month using manual scheduling and then switch to a week, the value will be distributed equally between all the days declared as worked. The same applies when switching from weekly to daily scheduling.
The remaining work will be smoothed with the exception of :
- days containing completed,
- days not worked in the resource calendar.
In manual scheduling , when I have smoothed values and add a manual value, the smoothed values are automatically smoothed by subtracting the manual value added.
How do I activate or deactivate manual scheduling ?
On a specific project
- Go to the relevant project.
- Click on the
Setting. - Check or uncheck the box
progressive scheduling.
If the box is checked, then the resource scheduling mode is progressive scheduling .
If the box is unchecked, then the resource scheduling mode is manual scheduling . - Click on
Register.
The project's resource scheduling mode will therefore evolve according to your choice.
On several projects
- Access the list of projects.
- Tick the projects to be modified.
- Click on Modify en masse.
- Select scheduling mode :
progressive schedulingormanual scheduling. - Click on
Projects will therefore have their scheduling mode changed according to your choice.
