Update scheduling

Keeping project scheduling up to date is essential if you are to have a truly progressive and up-to-date scheduling resources.

remaining work on the project must already have been planned to bring it up to date.

The notion of the smoothing start date for the remaining work is essential. This is the date from which the remaining work can be entered and smoothed.

Detailed remaining work not consumed by resources (without activity entry) located before the new date:

  • are deleted,
  • are reinjected into the global remaining work ,
  • and smoothed from the new smoothing start date of the remaining work until the end of the phase or project.

This operation can be performed for one project or several, either manually or automatically.

Update scheduling manually for a project

Here's how to update resource scheduling for a single project:

  1. Go to project > ResourcesResources.
  2. Go to screen SummarySummary or scheduleschedule.
  3. Click on Update.

    4. A new window appears.

  4. Select a new smoothing start date for the remaining work : recalculation of scheduling.
    5. 🚩
    Simply select an eligible date from the calendar. The dates proposed are those between the current smoothing start date of the remaining work and today's date. The date is grayed out if it turns out to be unselectable: either before the project start date, or after the project end date.
  5. Click on Confirm.
  6. Click on RegisterRegister.

The rescheduling date for remaining work has been modified for projects whose current smoothing start date is prior to the selected date. remaining work existing before this date will be smoothed over the period following the selected date.

Update scheduling manually for multiple projects

It is possible to update resource scheduling for several projects at once:

  1. Access the list of projects ProjectsProjects.
  2. Select several projects by ticking them.
  3. Click on the contextual menucontextual menu.
  4. Click on Update smoothing start date.

    5. A new window appears.

    Simply select an eligible date from the calendar. The dates proposed are those between the current smoothing start date of the remaining work and today's date. The date is grayed out if it turns out to be unselectable: either before the project start date, or after the project end date.
  5. Select a new smoothing start date for the remaining work : recalculation of scheduling.
  6. Click on Confirm.
  7. Click on RegisterRegister.

You can also run a Global configuration - Technical tabGlobal configuration - Technical tab to reschedule the smoothing start date of the remaining work.

This command is executed on a defined perimeter of projects, via a project filter applied in Global configuration - Resource / Budget sectionGlobal configuration - Resource / Budget section.

Update scheduling automatically

This resource scheduling update can be carried out automatically and en masse at a fixed date in your organization:

  1. Click on the main menu, then AdministrationAdministration > Advanced settings.
  2. In the Platform configurationclick on Global configurationGlobal configuration.
  3. Go to the Global configuration - Resource / Budget sectionGlobal configuration - Resource / Budget section.
  4. Modify field Automatic replanningAutomatic replanning.
    5. 🚩
    No value defined no automatic rescheduling Last day of the month Selected projects will have their smoothing start date changed to the last day of the month. Every 10th day of the month Selected projects will have their smoothing start date on the day of the month entered. At period initialization (before snapshot generation) selected projects will have their smoothing start date changed to the initialization date of period
  5. Select with the Project filterProject filter the projects concerned by this automatic update.
  6. Click on RegisterRegister.
    7. 🚨
    As with any change to the platform configuration, the user may need to log out/log back in to apply the changes.
