Datatalk

DatatalkDatatalk allows you to query the platform's data and obtain results as a table. Simply select :

  1. The theme (for example Resource, Budget or indicator)
  2. period (all at once, or evolution over time)
  3. Information to be displayed (example: the remaining workthe completedthe budget committedetc.)
  4. The element(s) to be analyzed (by filtering on certain projects, budgets, resources or indicators)

Then click on Run and DatatalkDatatalk displays a table with the requested data. You can :

  • Save the order (search) for later use
  • Export data to an Excel file
  • Add this table to other screens (e.g. the home page)

It's a fast, personalized way of consulting all kinds of information, without the need for complex reports. You simply select the criteria, and Datatalk takes care of displaying the results.

DatatalkDatatalk is accessible in a dedicated tab of the theme ReportsReports.

This is the name of the Datatalk query. Choose a descriptive name so you can easily find the right query.

CodeCode

Codes are generally entered in uppercase letters and with underscores _ It is important to enter them because they can be helpful in case of an error.

This is the creator of the Datatalk. This field cannot be edited and is automatically populated with the creator's name.

Displays the list of changes made to this datatalk by all users.

Actions are sorted from the most recent date to the oldest. This is possible on an already created datatalk.

Allows you to modify a datatalk.

Datatalk properties cannot be modified once the datatalk has been created, except by the person who created it.

Please note that if there is a structure link on several hierarchical levels, the total will be incorrect, as the data will be counted several times. This is the case if projects, resources, budgets or indicators are multi-linked. We can have a filter All projects or a filter that works with criteria.

This button makes it easy to find the items you're looking for. You can use an already saved filter (private or public) or specify specific filter criteria.

Once selected, a filter remains active until deselected by the user. When logged out, if a filter was active at logout, it will still be active the next time the user logs in.

Export to Excel

This button allows you to directly download a file DatatalkYYYYMMDDHHMM.xlsx. It contains the same data as when Datatalk is run in the table at the bottom of the screen. If the selected display mode is Summarythis button will be hidden.

Cancel

This button is used to cancel a current action and return to the previous screen. Please note that any unsaved changes will be lost.

Run

This button allows you to execute a Datatalk query based on the fields that have been filled in. If the execution fields are changed, you must click this button again to refresh the data.

Datatalk properties

This button only appears when creating a Datatalk record.

It simply allows you to expand the properties of a Datatalk at the top of the page.

Once you have filled in the fields, simply click on RegisterRegister

A request is recorded with the following information:

  • Choice of theme
  • Choice of representation
  • Display mode (overview/by project/by budget)
  • Period display (All periods / evolution)

Select projects

A pane appears, allowing you to select one or more projects, or even all projects. A text search can be used to find projects.

Select budgets

A pane appears, allowing you to select one or more budgets, or even all budgets. A text search can be used to find budgets.

Select resources

A pane appears, allowing you to select one or more resources, or even all resources. A text search can be used to find resources.

Select indicators

A pane appears, allowing you to select one or more indicators, or even all indicators. A text search can be used to find indicators.

Non-exhaustive list of error/information messages

🚨 “Warning : Pour une expérience optimale, nous vous conseillons de diminuer le nombre d’éléments sélectionnés (< 2000)” → Message affiché lorsque le nombre de projets ou le nombre de lignes est > 2000, l'exécution des rapports Datatalk n'est plus possible à l'écran mais possible en Excel.

🚨 "The Excel export feature is available only for multi-line results. For Summary and Total reports, we recommend running the report and viewing the results."
