Filter

A filter allows you to display only certain data, according to certain criteria. These criteria are specific to Project MonitorProject Monitor. A user can set the default filter selected when logging in. There are two types of filter: static and dynamic.

  • static filter A list of objects set manually by the user, which only changes if the user modifies it. This is a saved filter.
  • dynamic filter a list that automatically updates itself according to predefined criteria (attributes, attachments, etc.), integrating new objects that meet these criteria.

Filters can be :

  • Private: visible and usable only by their creator.
  • Public: accessible and usable by all platform users.

FilterFilter

image

We can have a filter All projects or a filter that works with criteria.

This button makes it easy to find the items you're looking for. You can use an already saved filter (private or public) or specify specific filter criteria.

🚩
Once selected, a filter remains active until deselected by the user. When logged out, if a filter was active at logout, it will still be active the next time the user logs in.
‣
It is possible to filter this list of private project filters with a filter criterion :
  • ContainsContains

Click on RegisterRegister to apply the filter and CloseClose to return to the list.

SortSort

This button is used to sort :

  • in ascending order on first click (down arrow)
  • in descending order on second click (arrow up) A third click on this button removes the sorting.

Sorting is performed on the header of a list in the application: list of views, users, projects, etc.

Creating and modifying a private project filter

Here are the fields found in this screen:

‣
WordingWording

Enter a clear label: this is the field that appears when you want to select a filter to apply.

‣
CodeCode

Codes are generally entered in uppercase letters and with underscores (_). It is important to enter them because they can be helpful if an error occurs.

‣
DescriptionDescription

Enter additional information in this field to describe your filter.

‣
StaticStatic

If you check this box, you will need to select certain projects from the list. Projects will not be selected based on their criteria.

‣
CriteriaCriteria

This field will not appear if the checkbox StaticStatic is checked. By editing this field, you can modify one or more criteria (status In Progress," weather "Sunny," etc.). Projects that meet these criteria will then be displayed using this filter. The criteria are based on attributes; therefore, this filter is flexible, and project attributes can be modified.

‣
SelectionSelection

This field will appear if the checkbox StaticStatic is checked. By editing this field, you can select projects from the list of all projects on the platform (in a pane).

🚩

It is also possible to select links for the filter. The names of these fields are those of the hierarchies created in the platform.

View

By clicking on this button, a list of projects matching the selection/criteria is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Copy to private filter

Allows you to copy the criteria of a public filter and create a new private filter. When you click on this button, a window appears. You will be able to change the name of this new filter from public to private, i.e. accessible only to you. The new filter will use the same criteria as your public filter.
