What is a cockpit ?

🚦
Cockpit A cockpit displays indicators in the form of colored lights, with additional information when hovering over them. Each cockpit relates to a specific application theme : budget, resource, planning, exchange, task, risk...

cockpit planning

On my project, I can see that today 3 of the 8 milestones set in my schedule have yet to be passed: their status is in red, giving me a warning.

image

In my cockpit, shown here on my dashboard , I see the same thing:

  • target which milestones should be completed today, here 100% (you can also display: 10 milestones out of 10)
  • Done: what is actually done here 75%?
  • Maximum delay : the number of days delay between the target schedule and theestimated actual schedule, in this case 30.

A cockpit Simple schedule value: Schedule progress is also available. It comes in four different forms:

  • Y / X schedule progress
  • Progress of target planning Y / X
  • Planning progress in %.
  • target planning progress in %.

Progress is calculated for each project milestone.

Example: if there are 3 milestones but only one has been completed, the cockpit will display 1/3

Schedule configuration

cockpit planning is configured in the platform configuration.

  1. Minimum threshold in cockpit → Define the number of days before the target date target warning thresholdwarning approaching another milestone. This corresponds to the minimum threshold found in the cockpit (dashboard and platform). For example, if you enter 5, then 5 days before the milestone end date, it turns yellow yellow.
  2. Maximum threshold in cockpit → Define the number of days after the target date target permitted delay for a milestone. This corresponds to the maximum threshold found in the cockpit (dashboard and platform). For example, if the delay is 0, then the milestone  orange at the end date, and red 1 day after the end date.
  3. Cockpit planning in whole numbers → If this box is checked, then cockpit planning will no longer be expressed in percentages but in a number of milestones.

The resource cockpit

The cockpit can be based on an accumulation of representations (in this case: target, completed cumulated and estimated), or on a representation of your choice.

So, depending on where the cockpit is displayed, we'll have information on the platform's resources, the project, and so on.

For example, I can see that, compared to my target, my resources have made pretty good progress so far (their work is charged to completed). My cockpit is therefore displayed in green.

Resource cockpit configuration

The resource cockpit is configured in the resource category .

You can set up as many alarms as you like, with a minimum and maximum threshold, a color and a label for each alarm.

Thebudget cockpit

The cockpit can be based on an accumulation of representations (in this case: target, committed cumulated, invoiced cumulated and estimated...), or on a representation of your choice.

So, depending on where the cockpit is displayed, we'll have information on the platform's budget, the project's budget, and so on.

For example, I can see that the budget for my target has already been overspent budget My cockpit is therefore displayed in red.

Thebudget cockpit is configured in the budget category .

You can set up as many alarms as you like, with a minimum and maximum threshold, a color and a label for each alarm.

Collaborative theme cockpits

Cockpits can be added for exchanges and tasks.

The cockpit exchange counts the number of exchanges (on the platform, on the project... depending on where the cockpit is added): there is no calculation completed, it's just an indication.

In thetask cockpit , you can view current tasks, late tasks, completed tasks and total tasks (for the platform or project).

cockpit risk

image

Therisk cockpit calculates the criticality of project/platform risks. Criticality is calculated according to severity and probability, for each risk added to a project.
